Conference Expectations

 

Dress Code:
Western bussiness attire

Boys: NO sneakers, white socks, t-shirts, facial hair, sneakers, sandals

         YES blazer, belt, tie, dress pants, long-sleeve dress shirt

Girls: NO sneakers, sandals, strappy tops, excessive makeup,                         provocative cleavage, excessively tight clothing, 

        YES formal pants, formal dress or skirt (knee length), suit, blouse

 

 

Award Policy:

The purpose of MUN is to expose delegates to the work of different international organizations, to gain skills in public speaking, negotiation and resolution writing, and to network with students from around Honduras committed to international affairs.

 

Delegates will be ranked on a scale from 0-5 (with 5 being the highest score) for each category. The delegates with the highest total overall scores will be the award winners of the committee. In the case of a tie in the numbers, it is up to the Chairs’ discretion, with feedback from the Secretary Generals, on who to give the awards to. 

 

  • Remaining "in character": defined as advocating your assigned country’s position

  • Speaking: time and quality 

  • Cooperation with committee members: Delegates who provide leadership through assistance to the committee are provided special consideration.

  • Position paper and research: 

  • Knowledge of parlimentary procedure: Consideration will be given to delegates’ knowledge and proper use of the parliamentary procedure and their ability to further the work of the committee.

 

There will be one best delegate and two honorable mentions in each committee.

 

 

 

Committment to Growth

 

 

FMUN has made a committment to providing opportunities for student growth and development during the conference.

 

Each delegate will recieve individualized feedback on their position papers and their performance.

 

Experienced chairs lead each committee with a dedication to providing lively debate and facilitating group cooperation.

Code of Conduct

 

  • prepare for the conference in advance by researching their country and topic.

  • follow the instructions from the conference staff (opening ceremony) and committee chairs.

  • actively participate in the committee debates including (but not limited to) making speeches, caucusing, proposing resolutions and amendments and voting.

  • turn off all cellular phones during the meetings.

  • observe and respect time frames for scheduled meetings, opening and closing ceremonies.

  • respect the property of the host venues.
